In this experiment we shall use a potentiometric method to determine the concentration of free copper ion in solution. The method is similar to the previous titration experiment performed using the glass electrode. As for experiment 5, the objectives are:
- The operation of a computerized titration unit
- The principles of pCu measurement in natural waters
- The calibration of an Copper Ion Selective Electrode (Cu-ISE) electrode, using a double junction reference electrode, by means of a Cu titration
- The interpretation of the potentiometric data to determine the extent of copper complexation in natural waters.
