PhD Candidate, Civil
and Environmental Engineering
Le is originally from
Shanghai,
China
, and she earned a BS
in Environmental Science and Engineering at
Tsinghua
University,
Beijing,
China
. After joining the Gray
research group, Le has synthesized titania-based photocatalysts using reactive direct-current magnetron
sputtering. She has characterized these catalysts in the oxidation of
organics in air, as well as the reduction of carbon dioxide for the production
of methane and methanol fuels. Joy's future research interests include
catalyst development and alternative energy production.
