Dune Soil Deposits

These coalescing parabolic sand dunes grade into siltier wind blown deposits toward the bottom of the photo. The idealized illustration (Mathewson, 1981) shows how these transition zones may vary laterally as well as vertically as a function of the average long term wind velocity
