Lava Ash Flow Deposits

This photograph of the flanks of an active volcano shows a recent lava flow extending to the bottom right. This flow portrays the typical pear shaped outline with the ropy surface showing contours of the flow that follow its outline. The elevation differences at the end of the flow are obvious in 3D.
