Dissolved Limestone (karst) Deposits

The thumbnail labeled "discontinuous drainage" displays the dimpled topography associated with sinkholes that develop with the dissolution of limestone. The drainage is disconnected and often internal as the ground water can often flow freely through joints opened by dissolution. The 3D geometry of the internal dissolution is given in the three dimensional illustration of the deposit.
